Sometimes it is desirable to change the email address associated with your PayPal account. You can also create an additional email address to receive money for your existing PayPal account.

Below are the steps for a typical PayPal account that has been setup for an organization or business. The steps may be different for a personal PayPal user account.

STEP #1 — Login

Login to your PayPal account by going to PayPal.com

STEP #2 — Go to Profile Settings

From the Profile Settings page, you will see the Email section at the top. To get to the Profile Settings page, use your mouse or trackpad to point at your name in the upper right corner of the PayPal page and from the drop-down menu choose Profile Settings.

If you are logged in and want to go directly to the Profile Settings page you can use this link:

STEP #3 — Go to Email Setup Page

To the right side of the Email section click on the Update link.

If you are logged in and want to go directly to the Email settings page, you can use this link:

STEP #4 — Add, Edit, or Remove

On the Email settings page you can add, edit, or remove an email address.

  • ADD — To add a new email address, click on the plus symbol (+) in the upper right of the page.
  • EDIT — To edit an existing entry, click the word Edit next to the email address.
  • REMOVE — To remove an existing entry, click the word Remove next to the email address.

You can also set a primary email address used for your account. This will be the one that receives account notifications. To set your primary email address, choose Edit for an existing entry and then put a checkmark in the box next to “Make this my primary email for receiving notifications.”

When you are in the Edit entry screen, there is a faint ‘x’ in the upper right that you can use to close out or cancel from what you are doing.
