After ten years from its original launch, on 14 Oct 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide free security and stability updates for Windows 10.
As that date approaches, customers will be given instructions on how to extend support for one more year at a cost of $30.
It’s been reported that business owners may have options for 1 year ($61), 2 years ($122), or 3 years ($244) of extended support. It’s not clear what a person will need to provide for proof that they are a business owner or entrepreneur. Perhaps it’s sufficient to self-declare business status.
